What side of the fence are you on? Something to think about.

[]

Which side of the fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn’t like guns, he doesn’t buy one.

If a Democrat doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.

If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.

If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.

A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.

Democrat’s demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.

A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it..

A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a Republican reads this, he’ll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.

A Democrat will delete it because he’s “offended”.

Well, I posted it.

@adampertman posing with his book, Adoption Nation, @jeaniemadsengallery

So interesting to hear Executive Director of the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute, Adam Pertman, of “Adoption Nation How the Adoption Revolution is Transforming Our Families —and America speak on his book tonight.

“Adoption Nation is the Silent Spring of adoption. It is, quite simply, the most important book ever written on the subject.” Former Executive Director, National Adoption Foundation. What I like is that he’s a former senior journalist at The Boston Globe which makes his writing very easy to read and listen to being read. Very poetic.

I also like reading that James McBride, another author I admire and have read his book, The Color of Water, endorses it with this quote: “Adoption Nation is a wonderful resource, deep and insightful…” Also, another man I admired, Dave Thomas, the late founder of Wendy’s and the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, wrote, “Adoption Nation is a powerful book that’s a joy to read.”

I’m surprised to read even Bastard Nation, the Adoptee Rights Organization, and American Adoption Congress’ former president also endorses it. This experience is bringing up a lot of emotions and I’m finding it hard to speak to many people as a result. Conversation is swirling around me over Woody Allen’s new film, Midnight in Paris, which I would normally jump into, but not tonight. It is fun to relive it vicariously though.

Scanning the chapter on birthparents I like what I read on how balanced his observations and reporting is. I can recommend reading it after seeing that. Heavy sigh. I need to leave now. I vant to be alone.:) Have a great weekend.

@jeaniemadsengallery hearing @adampertman discuss his new book, #Adoption Nation

Adam Pertman says, “Adoption isn’t about somebody else, it’s about all of us.” I love that sentiment.

Interesting, he says adoption is still the last “slur” is accepted by society. Breaks my heart to hear that. I wish people who write TV, films, and other influencing material would consider speaking to those of us in adoption before writing their stories.

The room is filled with people who have direct connection to adoption. Where are you? If you missed this evening, you can still pick up his book, Adoption Nation, on Amazon. http://thejoywriter.com

@dailybreeze - Excellent editorial comic by Lisa this morning! Thank you!

This explains the situation clearly, succinctly, and most importantly, HONESTLY.

Stop lying DEM Politicians and own up to the fact Obamacare guts Medicare, not Ryan’s plan. Obama is the one screwing over seniors, not the GOP’s plan. Perhaps, as has been said in criticism of Ryan and his budget, he is too influenced by Ayn Rand and not enough by the Bible, but I like the fact it doesn’t affect seniors and allows for freedom of choice, if my interpretation of it is accurate.

It’s always a little hard to discern the truth when biased media so often only present one side of an issue and Obama bald-faced lies in his public speeches. And yes, I did say lie because he does and I’m telling the truth. Check your facts. He lives by the adage, “Tell a lie often enough and people will believe it as truth.”

Well stop being so gullible America. You’re looking stupid when you don’t challenge or investigate authority. Where’s the rebels from the 60’s? Didn’t you teach your kids anything about revolution? Real change? Challenging authority? C’mon America. Get it together! You’re screwing with our future by blindly believing whatever is said by the media and this Administration and it’s not right.

Take a critical thinking class to learn what it means to compare and research facts rather than accept spoon-fed propaganda like you’re doing. Stop voting the same way your culture, race, friends or family votes because it’s easier to “group think.” Be independent. Think for yourself. Be a maverick. Read David Mamet’s new book and figure out whether you agree with him or not.

And for those conservative Hollywood big wigs still hiding behind FOA and other “underground” groups - get out of the closet. Stop cowering in fear and behind your anonymity. Come out of the closet and into the light.:) Use your celebrity for positive, real change. Publicly, visually, in film, on TV, in books, on the radio, and on the web. Create projects that share your world view and get it out there!

Take a hit for the team, speak out publicly once in awhile for issues you care about, put your name out there as someone the media can interview to hear a counterpart to the propaganda or continue to live with the consequences. Enough is enough. Time for real Hope and Change, not the change for the worse we’ve all been living with.

Be bold and live your true life. It’s much more exciting and satisfying. May not be as financially rewarding, but when has courage ever had a price?
